3 Things Every Internet Marketer Must Have To Build an Online MLM
In the last article we looked at the first step to building
your network marketing business online. (For those of you who missed that
article you should focus on one area to market your business and find a mentor
to help you.) By now you should have selected the area that you think you would
like to go. There are many strategies that are little of no cost to do.
As a general rule you should realize that there is an
inverse relationship between the amount of work you do to the amount of money
you pay. For example, if you have chosen to market your business on a social
networking site, you can do it for free, but you will need to put in a few
hours of work on a regular basis to get results. Conversely if you decide to do
pay per click marketing, you set it up and can manage it with very little time
after you get it running, but you will pay for each time your link is clicked
and this can be thousands of dollars.
There is no solution that is right for everyone, but they
all work if you follow the rules and spend some time learning to do it right.
We will get there, but we should first address the 3 things that you must have
for marketing on the Internet. These things are:
- Your
own Personal Website
- A
personal Social Networking Page
- Something
to Give Away and Something to Sell
Before stop reading because I said you need something to
give away, there are many things that will qualify for that and many of them
are free, so stick with me.
Your own Personal Website is a place where people can go and
learn about you and see for themselves what you can offer them. I am not
talking about your replicated web page for your primary business (that is to
say your primary network marketing company). All these pages do is promote your
network marketing business and, to be candid, almost no one wants to join your
primary business when presented with it directly. Most people (typically 95%)
will not want to join your network marketing opportunity when it is presented
to them.
Additionally, Network Marketing is still a relationship
business. Building it on line is just a different way of building that
relationship. This is why a personal website is so critical to your success in
building your network marketing business using the Internet. Don’t worry about
not knowing how to build a website because 1) your domain registrar (the
company you get your domain name through) will have the tools to help you build
it; and 2) your mentor will help you get on the right track.
A personal Social Networking Page is a great place for
people to go and learn even more about you. Just because you have a social
networking page does not mean that you have to market there, but many of the leads
you generate will have those sites and will want to be a part of your network.
So go and pick one or more of them and set up your profile, join some groups,
and check it once in a while.
Something to Give Away and Something to Sell is really what
makes building your business on the Internet work. I said earlier that only
about 5% are going to have any interest in joining your primary network
marketing business, so you need to have a way to be able to make some money on
the 95%. The best way I have found is through affiliate programs. These programs
offer all types of information, training, software, management tools, and
anything else you can think of to help build a network marketing business
online.
These programs are also built, run, and distributed by
others and pay you a commission for leading customers to them so you can put
money back into your own lead generation efforts in order to make your lead
generation pay for itself. I will address Affiliate Programs more in the next
