Zurvita, is it a Scam?
Zurvita, Inc. was founded in 2008 and is a wholly owned
subsidiary of the Amacore Group, Inc. (ACGI:OTC). Zurvita sells plans that
people pay a small ($30 or less) membership fee to receive the benefits on an
ongoing basis to help people save money on things they are already doing by
using a discount membership.
Zurvita offers five different products:
Zurvita Mxenergy – This product is currently only offered in
parts of 6 states for customers of specific power and energy providers. These
states are Georgia, Indiana, Michigan, New York, Ohio, and Texas. If you are a
customer of a participating energy provider, you can, for a fee, lock in the
rate you pay for your energy for up to 36 months.
Zurvita Health – This product is a discount program for
health and medical needs. For a monthly fee (about $20 - $25) you receive
discounts for Vision*, Hearing*, Lab/Imaging, and Pharmacy (*not available in
all states) and someone to negotiate for you to arrange payments with medical
providers. You also receive telephone access to a doctor that can discuss your
current conditions and even write some prescriptions.
Zurvita Tech – You get 30 minutes of telephone tech support
monthly and 2 Gigabytes of backup storage. You also receive discounts on any
additional services you need including your home electronics. You also receive
discount on technology products purchased through their store.
Zurvita Care Saver – This program gets you discounts at some
restaurants, retail establishments, theatres, hotels, ect. You also have access
to shopping at their online store to receive additional discounts. This program
also includes telephone access to a personal assistant that can make
reservations for you or answer questions and let you know the latest sports
scores.
Zurvita Protection – You receive some free legal services
(simple will, telephone or in person initial consultation, document review (6
pages), phone calls, and letters) and a discount on any additional legal
services you might need. This service also has an identity theft restoration
plan that gives you a kit and additional help to restore your identity. This
plan also includes roadside assistance as well as telephone counseling services
among others.
The Zurvita compensation plan is a unilevel plan (everyone
you sponsor is on your first level of direct sponsorship) and initially pays 6
levels deep, but provides a bonus that will pay unlimited levels deep. The
first bonus you will try to receive is the Fast Start Bonus. The company claims
you can make $1,000 your first month, but it is based on you bringing in 5 new
representatives (they call them Business Consultants) who each purchase a plan
and each of those 5 must sell 5 plans, all within your first 28 days.
Additionally the compensation received on each plan sold is not very large
(company states that compensation on each individual is between $.25 and $7.50
and uses $1 for illustrations), so a considerable amount of business must be
done, or a large number of business Consultants must be in your organization
before you are making a serious income (I consider serious to be a minimum of
$10,000 per month)
Initially you must pay $349 to join Zurvita and will have an
annual fee of $99 to stay in the program. I am generally against companies that
require you to pay an annual fee to continue being in business with them. My
belief is that once you join, the continued purchase of their product or
service should be sufficient to keep you active in the company and all bonuses.
To qualify for bonuses you must also maintain 3 Active
Customer Points (active personally sold plans, 1 point per plan) so you must
sponsor more than one Business Consultant or sell and keep active at least that
many plans. This seems a reasonably low qualification point to receive most of
the bonuses the company offers as you do not have to continue to sell new plans
each month to continue to earn money as long as business stays active.
Used correctly, some of Zurvita’s plans can save the average consumer a considerable
amount of money each month.
