Let’s face it, generating leads on the Internet can cost a
lot of money and many people that get into network marketing simply don’t have
it to spend. On top of that people find it difficult to take on a pay per click
campaign to the tune of $30, $50, $100 per day or more. At that same time
almost everyone will acknowledge that the life blood of building your business
online is leads.
Couple this realization with the fact that, on average, 95%
of the leads you generate will have no interest in joining your primary
business. So now you have to generate 20 leads to be able to get 1 person to
join your primary business. That gives you an idea of how many leads you need
to generate to get the desired number of new people joining your opportunity on
a monthly basis.
If we use an average acquisition cost of only $5 per lead
and you need 20 to get one person to join your business that is $100 per person
to join your primary business. For argument sake, let’s assume you make $25 per
month from that 1 person (That would be high for most programs.). It now takes
you 4 months to recover your initial investment to get that person to join your
primary business.
Using this method, it would take 7 months before you were
able to generate a profit from the people you brought into your primary
business without considering the people they bring to the company. At the very
least you are going to have 2 – 3 months of funding your program before you can
expect any significant return on your investment. It can happen much sooner
than that and it has done so for many people, but that certainly is not the
norm.
Affiliate programs allow for you to have an opportunity to
recover some of your lead acquisition costs and in many cases earn a
substantial profit from generating leads. With affiliate programs you do not
have to do any of the selling for the affiliate, the affiliate has most of it
ready and waiting for you. All you concern yourself with is generating leads. The
affiliate programs will help you pay for your lead generation efforts.
There are affiliate programs that will help people learn and
do just about anything to build their network marketing business. You need to
accumulate a mailing list and set up an auto responder; there is an affiliate
for that. You need a way to mail thousands of emails; there is an affiliate for
that. You need an easy way for your prospect to buy domain names and get web
hosting; there is an affiliate for that. You need to know how to launch an
effective Google Ad Words campaign; there is an affiliate for that. You need a
system that will create your web pages for you and capture and track your
leads; there is an affiliate for that.
Affiliate programs are the perfect way to build your list of
leads and to help you cash in while you convert some of them to your primary
business, but even if they don’t, why not still get paid something? Sign up as
an affiliate and get paid to build your business, chances are, you could
probably use some of what the affiliates are selling to help you anyway.
